Why couples choose me as their wedding celebrant

This week is World Celebrants Week and a lovely excuse to pause, reflect, and celebrate the work I love so much.

When people ask what makes a celebrant-led ceremony so special, they often expect me to say, “Because it’s personal,” or “Because you can have it anywhere.” And while both of those things are true, they’re not the real reasons couples choose me. I’ve realised there are three main things my couples tell me they value most and they’re all about how I make them feel.

I don’t just tell your story, I get you. I listen carefully, ask the right questions, and look for the little details that make your relationship uniquely yours. The result? A ceremony that is not only beautiful but one that you’re comfortable with and one in which every element reflects your personality.

That’s what I love most about my work, capturing the essence of a couple in a way that feels natural, warm and unapologetically them.

I’ve never really been one to follow the crowd (you might have noticed!). I believe your ceremony should reflect you, your personalities, your humour, your vibe.

Whether it’s modern and minimalist or bold and joyful, I help you throw away the “shoulds”, the expectations and old traditions and design something that actually feels like you. Because your ceremony shouldn’t be a box-ticking exercise, it should be a genuine celebration of who you are and what you love.

Your ceremony is the most important part of your day and the whole reason you have a wedding! But ….. It shouldn’t stress you out or make you shake with nerves! My role is to make the whole process calm, supportive, and fun. From our first chat to the moment you walk down the aisle, I make sure you feel completely at ease. On the day itself, I hold the space with warmth and confidence, bringing everyone together in a way that feels inclusive and joyful.

Because when you’re relaxed enough to be fully present, that’s when the magic happens.
