Naming Ceremonies
A Naming Ceremony is an alternative to a Christening and is a wonderful opportunity to welcome a new child into your family whether through birth or adoption. There are also many other reasons why a Naming Ceremony may be appropriate such as a change of gender or a change of name.
Whatever the reason Naming Ceremonies provide a perfect opportunity to celebrate a significant life moment whilst surrounded by family and friends who are there in your hopes and dreams for the future. There are no legalities attached to the ceremony so it can take place at a time and place of your choosing. No restrictions!

Pricing
From £250 for 2025 ceremonies
From £275 for 2026 ceremonies onwards
** Additional costs may include **
- Travel outside a 30 mile radius of Great Ayton. Additional charge of £25 plus additional miles charged at 45p per mile.
- Extra face-to-face meetings: from £25
- Rehearsal at venue, if needed, from £50 plus travel costs if over 30 miles
- Themed outfits or props: at cost (I’m game!)
- Accommodation, if required, usually closest Premier Inn/Travelodge. This may be required if your location is over a 3hr drive away, to also include evening meal
and breakfast.
I’ll always let you know upfront about any extras. No surprises. These will either invoiced separately or added to your final balance.
If you wish to proceed, a non-refundable booking fee of 25% of the total price is payable to secure the date/booking. The balance will be due approximately 6-8 weeks before your wedding date, before I deliver the first draft of your script.

Booking is made and your booking fee received.
Questionnaire to fill out in your own time to help me create your personalised ceremony and script
I get writing – I’ll create a fully personalised ceremony script with space to include poems and readings, religious or non-religious content and any other symbolic additions you may like to include such as a sand ceremony or candle lighting for example.
Tweaks & changes – You get as many edits as you like until it’s just right.
On the day – I’ll be there in plenty of time to help co-ordinate the ceremony, ensure everything is set up, welcome guests and steady any nerves.
